How to use a French Press | Press Pot | Coffee Plunger
Whether you call it the Press Pot or Coffee Plunger, the French press is one of the simplest method to make a great cup of coffee and it is gaining popularity in Malaysia. Besides being easy to use, it is also a cheaper method for anyone to get started in the wonderful world of coffee enjoyment. You'll be rewarded with the aroma of fresh coffee too! Here are the simple steps to quickly get you started:

Add course ground coffee: 1 Tablespoons (~8g) per cup (~4oz)Add hot water (off boil ~90-96C): ~4oz per tablespoon (~8g) of coffee powder

Firmly cover the pot with the plunger with the plunger fully retractedWait for coffee to steep for about 4 minutes (you may experiment with +/- 1min). Slowly press the plunger down.

Ah, smell the coffee. It is ready to be served.Serve immediately and empty the rest into a flask if you are not going to finish all. Prolonged 'soaking' will produce a bitter brew.
